Clarins pure melt cleansing gel

On a recent trip to debenhams to pick up the dior bb cream, i wandered over to the clarins counter, and decided to pick up the clarins pure melt cleansing gel. I'd heard about this cleanser from lily melrose from ETCLLYMLRS, and from her review it sounded like exactly the cleanser i was looking for.

I've been a fan of clarins for a while now, ever since i tried out their daily energizer cream, which i recently reviewed here, so i knew immediately that i would be a fan. I've been switching this cleanser into my routine for a few weeks now, and can honestly say I've been nothing but impressed.

Although described as a gel, i would say its a gel verging on balm type texture, which is heavenly to use. I massage it into dry skin for a minute or two, where it then transforms into an oil, which gently removes makeup and impurities. I tend to remove it by washing it off my face, or with a damp flannel. It's extremely easy to remove and doesn't leave a oily residue on your skin, you're simply left with fresh, clean skin which remains soft and full of moisture. This is something i always look for in a cleanser, as my normal/dehydrated skin can often feel very dry and tight after cleansing. I tend to use this cleanser either in the morning, or in the evening after cleansing with another makeup remover such as bioderma to remove the majority of my makeup, as i don't find one cleanse with this is enough to get off heavy makeup or thick mascara. This doesn't bother me, as i always double cleanse in the evening anyway if i'm wearing makeup.

Overall, i think this is a lovely cleanser which would work for all skin types, as it doesn't strip skin, but also doesn't leave an oily residue which may be too heavy for oilier skin types. Clarins pure melt cleansing gel costs £19.50, which i think is pretty reasonable, especially as it feels very high quality and the bottle seems as though it will last forever. I can see this cleanser being a part of my skincare routine for a long time to come.

Have you ever tried clarins pure melt cleansing gel? Whats your favourite cleanser?
