ADVICE | FEELING CONFIDENT IN LINGERIE

Ok so this post is a little different from my usual style but seeing as Valentine's Day is coming up, i thought this was a good topic to cover. Lingerie is the focus of my business, so i've learnt a lot of things when it comes to being confident in lingerie, from myself and my customers. Lingerie is so important (i mean, we wear it every day!) not just for comfort and practicality but mentally, for us to feel confident and beautiful in.

FIND A GOOD FIT // I can't stress how important it is to find lingerie which fits you properly! You can try on a few bras and be convinced you're a 32C, then go and get measured and find a 34A fits you so much better. The number of times i've had girls email me telling me they're such a size, and then when they've given me their measurements i've found they are a completely different size to what they originally thought is insane. I'd recommend going to get measured, and always try on one size smaller and one size bigger if trying out a new store, as sizing can vary slightly between brands and even between styles.

TREAT YOURSELF // I don't know about you, but i know new lingerie can make me feel beautiful even on down days. It doesn't have to be ridiculously expensive, but pick yourself up something nice, try it on in your bedroom and see the smile spread across your face. Even trying on a few pretty sets in the changing rooms and seeing yourself in them can help to perk up your mood!

QUALITY OVER QUANTITY // I know not everyone has the luxury of being able to afford La Perla, but i'd say its much better to own a handful of good quality sets, rather than dozens of cheap uncomfortable ones. My favourite brands are Calvin Klein, Gooseberry intimates, L'agent Provocateur, Oh So Lovely Intimates (Of course i had to mention my brand, why would i design things i dont love!), La Perla & For Love and Lemons.

STEP OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE, BUT NOT TOO FAR // Try on those Knickers with the cute brazillian cut, or try on that bra in the shade you wouldn't normally go for. Trying something new can be exciting and you may be surprised but how much you love it. Naturally we will go for whats safe, but sometimes we need to push ourselves to try something new and boost our confidence. That being said, if you've never been into those ultra strappy bras or you cant wear soft bralettes because they don't offer the support, don't wear them just because you think you should.

WEAR IT FOR YOU // Of course its amazing to impress your other half, but wear your lingerie for you. Even if you're single, put on a pretty new set and wear it for the day, you'd be amazed at how confident and powerful it can make you feel. Lingerie shouldn't just be just for the bedroom, its a powerful tool to make a woman feel more put together and ready to take on the world.

I really hope this post has given you the nudge you needed to pick yourself up and treat yourself to a set (or wear a beautiful old set) that you will feel confident in this valentines day - and all year round! I'm a sucker for anything romantic, so i've got another valentines related post coming up later this week.
